Getting a name right
A name tattoo is usually for one person: a child, a parent, a partner or someone you lost. The design is mostly the lettering, so the script and the size matter more than anything else.
Size and placement
- Spell it out letter by letter with your artist before the stencil goes on. Check accents and capital letters too.
- Script needs size. Small, tight lettering can blur and close up as a tattoo ages, so ask your artist for the smallest size they would do for that name.
- Our Script style draws the exact words you type. Still, check every letter of an AI design before you take it to your artist.
Before you take it to your artist
- An AI design is a starting point. Some tattoo artists say AI designs are often too detailed for the spot they are meant for, so expect your artist to simplify it.
- The free stencil is a clean line version that shows the line work. Your artist will still redraw it to fit your body.
- Check the size before you book: try the design on with a daylight photo of the spot.
Try it on your skin
Upload a photo of the spot and see the design there as healed ink. Free every day: 2 designs and 1 try-on, no account.
